Multi-Trade Carpenter | Site Lead

Applications Closing… CV’s still welcomed

NEWAYS is looking for an exceptional multi-trade professional ready to step up, lead from the front and help shape the future of our award-winning company.

This is not simply another job on the tools, we are looking for somebody who can become a genuine Neways Ambassador: a skilled, dependable and commercially aware individual who can work closely alongside our Managing Directors, lead projects on site and represent everything our small, family company stands for.

THE QUESTION ISN’T ONLY WHETHER YOU CAN DO THE WORK. It is whether you want to help lead the people doing it. If you are proud of your trade, ready to carry greater responsibility and want to work for a company whose name you would be equally proud to represent, we would love to hear from you.

To Apply:
Please send us Your CV and portfolio, to: info@newaysgroup.co.uk for the attention of Louise,

Include:
• A short introduction telling us why this role interests you
• Details of any supervisory, estimating or mentoring experience
• Your current location, availability and expected remuneration

We are not looking to fill a space as quickly as possible. We are looking for the right person to help us build what comes next and will consider a PAYE or
Sub-Contractor arrangement.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

You will already have substantial practical experience across several areas of domestic building, renovation, property repair, maintenance & improvement.

You do not need to know absolutely everything. You do need the judgement to recognise what you know, what you need to check and when a suitably qualified specialist must be involved.

You are likely to be someone who:

• Produces work you are genuinely proud to put your name to
• Understands how different trades, stages and decisions affect the whole project
• Can inspect a potential job and see beyond the immediately obvious work
• Communicates clearly and respectfully with clients and colleagues
• Is organised, accurate and comfortable recording project information
• Can lead people without speaking down to them
• Takes responsibility instead of looking for somebody else to blame
• Respects drawings, specifications, manufacturers’ instructions and Building Regulations
• Understands the importance of protecting the client, the company and the integrity of the finished work
• Is commercially aware and treats company time, materials and resources responsibly
• Is honest when something has gone wrong and proactive about putting it right
• Is coachable, even with considerable experience
• Wants to mentor others and contribute to a strong, skilled team

Above all, we are looking for the right attitude, shared values and genuine belief in what Neways represents.

We stand by our belief that skills can be strengthened, systems can be taught, and taking pride, care and personal responsibility are essential characteristics.

WHAT BEING A NEWAYS AMBASSADOR MEANS:

Our clients do not choose Neways simply because they need building work completed. They choose us for the reassurance that their project will be properly considered, responsibly managed and delivered with care. That means our standards apply even when nobody is watching. Especially when nobody is watching!

A Neways Ambassador protects the client’s home, the company’s reputation and the people working alongside them. They speak about the business with the same respect in private that they show in front of a client. They do not cut corners, conceal problems or leave somebody else to carry the consequences of their decisions or genuine mistakes. And they are not willing to compromise on ethics, by suggesting we pay them through off shore bank accounts! Not going to happen!!

The successful candidate will be proud to represent Neways, and will give Neways every reason to be proud that they do.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

• Strong multi-trade experience within domestic construction or renovation
• Sound awareness of health and safety and current construction compliance
A full UK driving licence
The legal right to work in the UK
• References and examples of previous work
• Willingness to undertake appropriate background, qualification and competency checks

LOCATION

Based near Attleborough, the Neways team primarily takes on project across Norwich, South Norfolk, Breckland, Broadland and North Suffolk regions.
